The intent is to achieve outcomes which demonstrate a more engaged RST workforce, improved leadership across all levels, enhanced active collaboration and knowledge sharing across the Network, as well as improved governance capability across all Trusts.

Aspiring Leaders Development Programme

The aim of the programme is to build the capability of participants to equip them with leadership skills to influence within their RSTs and roles, lead themselves and others to be the best they can be for their organisation and communities, and support their career growth.

    People Development Framework

The aim of this opportunity is to work with each RST to design/develop and support the delivery/implementation of a people development framework that is underpinned by the Puna Framework.

This will enable RSTs to prioritise development of their people at all levels of their organisations and have a cohesive approach across teams/staff in regard to how they support the development of individuals.

This will be bespoke to each RST and the expectation is that each RST will have a framework that they can embed and continue to implement at the end of this project (sustainability).

    Mātātoa Leadership Programme

A leadership capability programme developed to address challenges in the sector, identified by the results of the Culture Amp staff engagement survey in 2024.

The programme is designed to build core leadership skills in senior managers with a focus on having courageous conversations, supporting team members in their professional growth, and understanding and communicating effectively around remuneration strategies.

    Governance

Organisational capability begins at the top with good governance, which is why the RST Network has a focus on governance development.

In addition, RSTs are being encouraged to sign up to Sport NZ’s Governance Mark programme, and in the process of undertaking this initative, improve all aspects of their governance.

    Culture Amp

With the support of Sport NZ, RSTs have the opportunity to engage in an annual staff engagement survey via Culture Amp.

The platform provides analytics and insights which enable RSTs to measure and support overall workplace satisfaction.

Annual results are provided to RSTs to support individualised staff engagement strategies, while aggregated results are used to inform Network wide opportunities for collbaoration and professional development.

The Culture Amp results are also used to gauge employee satisfaction and engagement, a critical measure for the Network.

    Knowledge Sharing Hub

A key outcome of the Network is to improve collaboration and knowledge sharing. In line with the development of the the RST Network website, a knowledge hub has been established.

With secure areas for Board Chairs, CEO's, SLT and staff, commonly sourced resources and documents are made available to enhance and improve both the sharing of knowledge as well efficiencies across the Network.
